One child, one community, one dream at a time.
Bai Rohaniza “Ate Honey” Sumndad-Usman or Mentor Honey is a visionary leader in peace education, conflict prevention, and youth empowerment. With over 20 years of experience, she has committed her life to building a culture of peace from the ground up, starting with the hearts and minds of children.
As the Founder and Chief Peace Mission Keeper of the Teach Peace Build Peace Movement (TPBPM), Ate Honey leads a nationwide initiative to “Make Every Filipino Child and Youth a Peace Hero.” Her approach is rooted in holistic peace education, integrating interfaith, intercultural, and intergenerational dialogue into schools and communities throughout the Philippines.
Through TPBPM, she has transformed peace education into an engaging, creative, and deeply human journey, helping young people understand that peace is not just a concept, but a way of life. Her mission bridges the grassroots with the global, as she collaborates with international organizations, faith-based networks, civil society, and local governments to embed peace into education systems and community practice.
Beyond her movement-building work, Ate Honey plays active leadership roles across several platforms. She became part of the expert group with Arigatou International for the adaptation of its interfaith ethics education program to the primary school level, and serves as the Philippine Coordinator for the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC). In addition, she sits on multiple advisory councils, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, Civil Relations Service Multi-sectoral Advisory Board and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.
Her impact has been widely recognized through numerous honors and citations. Among these are her fellowship with ASHOKA, the world’s largest network of social entrepreneurs, and awards from UNDP, the TOWNS Foundation, Tatler Asia, and the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID), to name a few. Across media platforms, she is celebrated as a “Gamechanger” and affectionately known as the Peace Princess of the Philippines—a title that reflects her enduring commitment to compassion, courage, and community.
Mentor Honey joins the MISSION POSSIBLE Youth Social Hackathon: Philippines Edition (October 24–26, 2025) to inspire young changemakers to dream, act, and build peace from small circles to the world.
