Reforesting land, restoring lives—his journey proves that faith, simplicity, and service can build a better world.

Mentor Toto or Alberto “Toto” Malvar is living proof that one life, lived with purpose, can make a world of difference.

With more than four decades of service to God, Nature, and People, Coach Toto has dedicated his life to bridging privilege and poverty through compassion, stewardship, and action. After an early career in corporate marketing and government service, he left it all behind to pursue a deeper mission: reforesting degraded lands and empowering rural communities in the Sierra Madre.

Today, he is the visionary behind the Mount Purro Nature Reserve, a family-led eco-park and reforestation project that models sustainable tourism, local livelihood, and community upliftment. His work has impacted thousands of lives, especially the indigenous Dumagat community, who honor him as an Adopted Elder—Amba.

Guided by faith and a belief in “cura personalis” (care for the whole person), Toto’s leadership is rooted in humility and hope. He often says, “When you have God, you have enough. When you are without Him, you are poor.” Through storytelling, mentoring, and hands-on community work, he inspires people—especially the youth—to embrace simplicity, serve others, and lead with conscience.

As a father of seven, grandfather of twenty, and co-founder of multiple family-focused movements, Toto’s legacy spans both forests and families. His work has earned him national awards, but his greatest reward remains the lives touched and the hearts moved.

At the MISSION POSSIBLE Youth Social Hackathon: Philippines Edition (October 24–26, 2025), Mentor Toto in his One Big Fight brings his lifelong commitment to environmental justice and community empowerment to inspire youth. His presence reminds us that the power to create change doesn’t always begin on a grand stage—it often begins in the forest, at the family table, or in the quiet courage to ask: What can I do for others?
