From cassava bags to climate impact—she proves green innovation can scale and inspire.
Mentor Nikki Sevilla-Caampued is a trailblazer in sustainability and circular economy innovation in the Philippines. As the founder of EcoNest Philippines, AKO Packaging, and the Philippine Alliance for Sustainable Solutions Foundation Inc. (PASSFI), she has built a thriving ecosystem that connects environmental responsibility with business innovation, youth empowerment, and climate education.
Her entrepreneurial ventures have introduced local, plant-based bioplastics—including pioneering cassava-based packaging solutions—to the Philippine market. Through AKO Packaging alone, her team has distributed over 300 tonnes of eco-packaging, helping businesses across the country transition toward more sustainable operations. Meanwhile, her foundation PASSFI has reached over 50,000 individuals through webinars, trainings, and sustainability-focused programs—nurturing a new generation of eco-conscious leaders.
Nikki’s dedication to championing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly those related to responsible consumption, innovation, and climate action—has earned her multiple recognitions. In 2025, she was awarded the Heartbeat of Humanity Service Award by the Inner Wheel Club of the Philippines for her impact across 11 SDGs. She was also named a Tatler Gen.T Honouree in 2021, spotlighting her as one of Asia’s top young changemakers, and was a Top Innovator Finalist in the Shell LiveWIRE Program 2025.
Her influence extends beyond the Philippines. Nikki represented the country in the 2024 Board of Investments Bioplastics Program and continues to collaborate with government agencies and global partners to shape more regenerative, inclusive, and mindful economic models.
Before starting her own businesses, Nikki worked in brand management for international companies, where she gained first-hand insight into the environmental impact of conventional packaging and consumption. Her pivot to green entrepreneurship reflects her personal mission: to make sustainable solutions more accessible, scalable, and people-powered.
At the MISSION POSSIBLE Youth Social Hackathon: Philippines Edition, Nikki joins as one of five inspiring mentors, bringing her real-world experience in scaling green businesses and advocating for sustainability from both the grassroots and industry levels. She invites young innovators to think boldly, act responsibly, and lead from a place of purpose—no matter how small the starting point may be.
Her story is a powerful reminder that innovation doesn’t need to compromise the planet—and that a better future is possible when purpose and business go hand in hand.
