Meet the first Mentor of Season 3 ! Mentor Dr. Santi, a role model for building a caring society where no one is left behind!
Mentor Dr. Santi Lapbenjakul is a physician who believes that healthcare does not begin in hospitals—it begins with understanding people, communities, and the realities of everyday life.
His inspiration began during medical school, when he witnessed many elderly people in rural communities facing illness and isolation without adequate support. That experience led him to serve in remote areas of Lopburi Province and eventually inspired the creation of the “No One Left Behind” initiative. Through this community-driven model, local residents came together to care for homebound patients and older adults, creating a widely recognized example of compassionate and sustainable community care.
Mentor Dr. Santi believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and meaningful life, whether they are older adults, children, or individuals facing vulnerability. This belief led him to develop the ICAP program, which promotes learning through play and strengthens Executive Functions (EF) among young children. He has also worked closely with schools to establish mental health support systems and help teachers identify and assist students at risk from an early stage.
Throughout his career, Mentor Dr. Santi has chosen to listen before leading and to adapt rather than rely on conventional solutions. He sees community development not as delivering ready-made answers, but as creating opportunities for people to shape their own future. This approach is reflected in initiatives such as the “Angel Teacher” program, which empowers teachers to support vulnerable children by mobilizing the strengths and resources already present within their communities.
Mentor Dr. Santi believes that sustainable change happens when people in a community care for one another. His story reminds us that a stronger society begins when no one is left behind.
This year, Mentor Dr. Santi will join us on the first day of MISSION POSSIBLE Youth Social Hackathon : Season 3 to share his inspiring journey and real-life experiences with our hackers.
